A Dated but Solid source for VB.Net fundamentals.
By Jonathan P. Carroll
This book is good, but not great. Remember that this book is intended for absolute beginners. Its also a little dated. Again, not the fault of the author since Wallace wrote it a long time ago. But if your looking for a little primer into the very verbose world of VB.Net it will do to prime the pump. A lot of things have changed and the language has incorporated many of the elements from C# now and that leaves a small gap in this book. I read about half of the book and was able to complete the job in front of me by studying syntax clues from within.

I handed the book off to one of my friends that is just starting. Waiting to get a report back.

Great book for anyone wanting to learn Visual Basic
By J. Tanner
I'm an IT engineer and was wanting to get stronger in scripting and code writing and heard this book was pretty good. Many other Microsoft or other company books are extremely dry reading where this was great. Whether you're a computer person or not, it's easy to follow, well structured, and has some amusing jokes. Learning VB.Net was much easier than I thought.
