About the Author
About the Authors...
Brent Keeth began his electrical engineering career designing radar subsystems for military applications and hybrid integrated circuits for avionics control systems. He went on to design baseband scrambling and descrambling equipment for the CATV industry and professional production and post-production video equipment for the broadcast television industry. Mr. Keeth, a principal fellow at Micron Technology, Inc., has engaged in the R&D of generations of CMOS DRAMs and currently performs extensive research in high-speed bus protocols and open standard memory design. He has served on technical program committees for both the IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference and the Symposium on VLSI Circuits. In addition, Mr. Keeth has reviewed numerous papers for the Journal of Solid-State Circuits. He holds over 60 U.S. and foreign patents.
R. Jacob Baker is an associate professor of electrical engineering at Boise State University and a senior design engineer at Micron Technology, Inc. At Boise State, Dr. Baker teaches courses and conducts research in CMOS analog and digital integrated circuit design, while at Micron Technology he designs circuits for emerging memory technologies and DRAM interfaces. He is a coauthor of the popular textbook CMOS: Circuit Design, Layout, and Simulation (IEEE Press, 1998). Dr. Baker holds 12 patents.

Great book for the beginner or the intermediate circuit designer

This book is a great introduction into DRAM circuit design. Not only does it provide a high level description of DRAM architecture, it also clearly explains the sub blocks that comprise the entire DRAM. Transistor level circuit diagrams and critical timing waveforms are provided to more clearly describe each block. In many cases, the author provides more than one circuit solution and demonstrates the advantages and disadvantages of each.

This book is easy to read, practical, informative, and well worth the price for anyone who is considering DRAM circuit design as a career or just simply wants to know more about these types of circuits. Well done!

Good tutorial into memory design field.

After reading the book, in my opinion, it covers the major points of memory design. From functional overview, memory cell, array architecture, decoding, redundancy to interface. Attached with major circuit diagrams, as well as waveforms that show cricial signal timings, I think this book serves as a complete overview to DRAM design. Another plus is the reference paper listing in the book is clear and helpful to the readers who want to continue to explore in the field.

Easy and practical

I like this book because the authors explain the DRAM concept in plain Ebglish. Besides the easy-to-understand part, the authors also list the reasons why certains things cannot be done. I think this is great because most of books only tell the readers how to design the circuit but fail to mention the tradeoff behind that.
Overall, this book is really a good tutorial for people who are interested in the DRAM design.

This is THE book to guide you into mixed media art creations.

I cannot say enough about this book. I've never done well with my own attempts at mixed media work. But, with the amazing guidance Mimi gives in this highly-detailed and high-quality book, mixed media work is within my grasp. I am so thrilled with the painting I'm learning to do! There is an abundance of colorful pictures that clearly explain each step in the creation of a work of art. Mimi's style is bright and cheerful and whimsical and I love it! I'm hoping book two is in the future! If I could pick a mentor in this field, it would be Mimi! This book is an amazing bargain - worth every penny and more! This is happiness wrapped up in an instruction book! I've added a few of my creations based on her book and my work was nothing like this before finding Mimi!

A book that teaches

This is a great book both for beginners and for anyone who wants to learn how to make a multi-layered background. She also has a few examples, complete with step by step instructions, of art journal pages with focal points, including the one on the cover. What makes this book unusual is that it really does have step by step instructions for all of the pages shown in the book.

When you are just starting out, either in mixed media, or in learning a new technique, it helps to have step by step instructions. There is only one bad review of this book at the present time, and the author of that review is correct that if you are copying someone else's work, you aren't being creative. But what you are doing is learning. So if you want to learn, this is a good book for doing that.

I, by the way, have owned the book she suggests instead, and it is also a good book in its own way. I drew my first face from that book.

I am totally new to art, have never lifted a paint brush since elementary school. Mimi teaches you how to relax and enjoy the process. She lets you see this as having fun and forgetting about perfection. This is totally a No Shenanigans type of art process. I love Mimi's style and her attitude. Highly recommend.

About the Author
Kenneth Stephenson is Professor of Mathematics at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he has established an active research program in complex function theory. He has had visiting positions at the University of Hawaii and Florida State University, and sabbatical appointments at the Open University and the University of Cambridge. Over the last fifteen years he has centered his research on circle packing. In this book he formulates circle packing as a discrete incarnation of classical analytic function theory.

What a magnificently breathtaking and exquisitely brilliant creation that far exceeds words and instead finds itself firmly rooted to the ethereal plane of emotions so dark and deep that very few dare to explore. The themes touched on throughout these pages will shred and destroy your soul, and only your heart will be able to save you. The darkness that boldly seeps around you can only be counter-balanced by the light that dares to desperately make its intentions known. There is no middle ground, so unlike this grey world we find ourselves living in, a side must be chosen. Just be careful not to lose yourself after the choice has been made.

Through a series of horribly unthinkable events, Sara finds herself thrown into a world that is as deadly as it is beautiful. She has no clue as to her fate, but she continues to stand firm against the silent yet consistent undercurrent that is always pulling at her. When she is handed a golden opportunity to change her circumstances, she grabs on with white knuckles and swallows her fear in order to do what others have not been able to. The decision to live her life on her own terms will either become a deceptive promise or an iron-willed truth. Thane has a fiercely single-minded focus on his job. I am still in shock and reeling from this amazingly stunning journey with Sara and Thane. Always kept on the edge of my seat even from the very first word, I am desperate to know what happens next. Two very different yet connected lives converge and collide in this recklessly paced rollercoaster rode. No detail is every insignificant when your life is not your own, and when you are desperate to reach a loved one, nothing can keep you away. Thane and Sara seek two very different goals, but within the other they find a desperately craved solace and a deeply rooted fulfillment that leaves them breathless and bewildered. These characters are so powerful and raw, and I love watching them breathe much needed life into each other. It’s incredible to watch the effect they have on the other, and to begin to learn their stories and how they are unknowingly linked. They are simply stunning, and I couldn’t get enough of them.

Toni Vallan is a truly inspired and insanely talented author who I can’t wait to see bloom into their full potential. Without a doubt, Vallan is definitely a force to be reckoned with! There is something huge and beautiful that grows with each word read in this book that you can’t see or touch, but I felt it with every part of my heart. Keeping genius like this quiet after the beginning of such a superb story as this one will be virtually impossible. Everyone needs to experience the full depth and breathe of this harrowing and heart wrenching journey!

I had a lot of questions at the beginning of Beautiful Collision but I think that's normal

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I had a lot of questions at the beginning of Beautiful Collision but I think that's normal. You're always curious about the stories of each character and how they're going to meet. The answers eventually came so while I read through it was hard sometimes to be wanting the answer but not able to find it at the time.

There were multiple perspectives, including those of Thane and Grey. It was difficult at times reading and seeing the difficulties that Gray especially went through. And then we would get small little clues about her watcher but they didn't really help put things together, just added more questions that I was begging the answers for.

It was certainly and action packed book, and there's a cliffhanger so I honestly am looking forward to the next book so that I can find out what happens next! Toni Vallen is a good writer, and I liked her style of writing.
