Great content, classic! Lousy print job and cheaply made. 5 stars for content 1 star for actual physical book.

The book content is excellent, I wanted to re read it and wanted a copy for my library. It arrived today, and it is the worst quality hardcover book I have ever purchased for $30, actually for any price. The printed pages look like they were photocopied, on cheap paper, cheap hardcover, generally cheap feel all the way around. It is apparent this was rushed into print to take advantage of the possibility of folks like me wanting to re-read this classic before Harper Lee's "found" novel is released. I'm sorry I fell for it.

Enjoyed every word of it

I thought I should read more classic novels. You know, to broaden my views. I didn't know that I will like the novel this much, however I read similar stories before. I like how it shows an era, it's folks.
Each people has more layers than one, and sometimes one has to be patient, to see the kindness despite of their stereotype. And you also understand more, how stupid prejudice is particularly in those years; it was a strong tradition between folks, whose family in the past had slaves, so they still have the despise, the hate for the "lower race". It must has been a really inconvenient era, when people had to learn to see those layers.
The story sometimes makes me angry and in the next second time it's heartwarming. Some characters are lovable during the whole story -- I would like to be acquainted with a person like Atticus in real life -- some characters are there because balance is necessary, and they are just... evil. Ewells.

I would recommend this book to everyone. There is no particular type of people that should read this story more than others. This is a story for everyone.

"High-Tech Trash" tells of primitive computer recycling efforts in Ghana's capital. They break copper yokes off picture tubes, littering the ground with shards containing lead, a neurotoxin, and cadmium, a carcinogen that damages lungs and kidneys. They strip resalable parts such as drives and memory chips. Then they rip out wiring and burn the plastic. Broken monitors float in the lagoon, soon to wash into the ocean. PCs are not the only "fuel" - about 25 million TVs are taken out of service yearly. Meanwhile, about 180 million TVs, desktop PCs, and other components as of 2005 sit in storage, according to the EPA, with goodly amounts of gold and silver that are environmentally preferable to recover than re-mine.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Metcalfe is a licensed private pilot, enjoys motorcycling during the warmer months, and playing the piano.

I ordered and they said it shipped but I never did get it! Contacted seller they said sorry no reshipping. I am now out of 37 dollars and nothing to show for it!!! Be very careful when buying from this company.

This greatly deserves more that five stars. the price is amazingly cheap and the quality of the book i ordered came better than what i expected. It did take a while before it arrived, however it did make it before the due date. so yes. This book really is helping me a lot in how to construct a speech, giving me more info about forming an outline which is a huge help.

Easy to Understand with Relevant Examples

I used this for my communications class to learn how to better organize and deliver my speeches. This book is written incredibly well. It uses several examples from famous speeches. It was nice to read a textbook that was applicable to the current time period.

Must Have for Children's Book Illustrator

As a Children's book Illustrator I am always asked how to break into the field. Well, you need a few things like, a bit of talent. I say this only because you don't have to be a best artist out there, just do your best at your style of art. You need tools of trade whether you paint traditionally or work digitally. You also need this fabulous book!!! I think it's a must have for every illustrator want to be illustrator of children's books. It is filled with wonderful information about techniques and styles, color palette, page layouts, story boarding and so much more. I use mine all the time. Each time I start project I pull it out. It helps and inspires me to really do my best. Every artist should have this book right next to the media you work in.

Visiting an art gallery, afterwards a reception with the artists.

I bought this book at a Boarders going out of business sale. The cover was so enticing and playful I could not put it down. It is well organized. It has many tutorials, case studies, recommended reading and loads of inspiration along with a great resource section. I particular like the section that interviewed the many illustrators and displayed their work. I was able to look up each artist's web site and review their personal blogs and portfolio. The work was beautiful and as expected will make you laugh. What was a surprise to me were the artistic ways the artist used different mediums to come up with outstanding work. The New York Times cover along with other work by Bob Staake was wonderful. Not something you see on the average in art galleries. The most useful were the simple tutorials because in most books the tutorials are not that easy to follow. The reason a lot of picture books seem like masterpieces is because they are. Some artists demonstrate their technique to show how much work goes into creating art for a 32 piece picture book. Mary Jane Begin demonstrates how she painted The Sorcerer's Apprentice. My favorite was a 3D cut-paper collage book illustrated by J. Moffatt. Then of course for us digital artist Photoshop is in the house but Carlyn Beccia impressed me with her walk through of an art piece with Coral Painter. The work looked as if it was originally produced. I finished the book knowing I would try Coral Painter and a few other ideas inspired. I had fun with this one. I felt like I visit an Art Gallery and afterwards had tea with the artists because the book and the artists' blogs are very personal and conversational. Just what you would expect from children artist.

Certainly not exhaustive as far as a complete reference guide but a good general foundation from European Officers of the 1800's to roughly the Iraq wars. Covers the foot soldiers to officers with various and sundry in betweens. A good general world-wide survey.

Of limited value.

I'm a professional cartoonist and comic book artist. After I purchased this book as reference for a job, I experienced a profound disappointment at finding so many B&W illustrations in the book. What "visual encyclopedia" of militaria runs B&W pictures? How is that useful as a reference work, particularly one about uniforms, which are defined by their colors and details?

Additionally, the book really skimps on pre-WWII content. Luckily, I hedged my bets and purchased some other uniform guides at the same time, so I'll be able to continue my work...no thanks to this disappointing excuse for an "encyclopedia." I should have read the reviews first and saved a few bucks. If you're in the market for a comprehensive reference work, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Thank you for this great book. In an age where we are driven to be on front street, and we feel the pressure to make a name for ourselves, your book reminds us that we are not all called to be a Moses. Many of us are called to be a Caleb or Aaron and hold up the arms of those we serve.

Greg's an example of a great servant and a great leader!

I heard him speak at my home church (Cornerstone Church of San Diego) a few months ago and last month at Morris Cerullo's conference in San Diego. The examples from his life make the seven serving secrets of his book come alive, simply and clearly. It is biblical and authoritative, as he lives what he writes about, both serving Morris Cerullo and leading others with the same anointing the past 25 years. Loved it! I bought it on a Friday night and finished the 48 pages by early Saturday morning. You will love it too!

A True Man of God

It is clear in this book that through his obedience to the Lord, Greg Mauro has retained what to me is one of the most important human qualities of all: humility. To have been over ambitious as a younger man would have made him a prime target for satan to destroy with all the temptations he throws at a young person trying to build up a successful Ministry. Greg was safer working with Brother Morris Cerullo for these past 26 years. But he has stood the test of time and as such the Lord is now challenging him to Minister in his own right; and my observations are that he is doing a wonderful job, so pleasing to the Lord. My Wife, Son, Daughter and I are lifted by Greg's writings and teachings and look forward to a more prolific output while acknowledging with thanks and gratitude the work he has carried out over nearly three decades with the Ministry of Morris Cerullo. This book is short - yet speaks volumes. I recommend it from the bottom of my heart.
